survival of the prettiest
peggy martin's story of survival in twenty feet of saltwater in the wake of hurricane katrina makes you want to plant her all over your garden and your neighbor's, too.
it is hard to believe that it has been two years since i blogged about her from my old garden before i knew that i would have a new garden. this sweet survivor was the first rose planted in my new garden here. begging from her cupcake blooms and tenacious smiles, we can all be a little bit heiress and a little bit irish.

I left a reply to your Peggy Martin post 2 years ago, and I'm leaving one now, too.
Love this rose both for its beauty and survival story.
Very fitting that its thriving in your new garden!! You have that special touch, my friend.
I'm tucking away plans for this rose in my own survivor future - my story is different, but isn't everyone's?
So I was glad to see Chamblee's carries her, or at least used to - I'll be making a drive to Tyler over Spring break and coming home with sweet Peg, hopefully.
She will remind me of you. :)
XOXO
What a wonderful testimony to the tenacity of life!
Just like her Momma....pretty as a party frock, and strong as steel! :o) U such a showout...lol xoxo AndieBee
She's a beauty, Dawn. I remember when you first planted her. And I'm glad she came with you to grace your new garden.
absolutely gorgeous!!! i want some. xo
Another year in your beautiful garden. Here, there...elsewhere, anywhere. It's YOU that makes it a work of art. I can't wait to watch it unfold.
Dawn, she's beautiful. And I was so impressed I just ordered her from Antique Rose Emp. I can relate to the survivor thang for sure! Love it...love you!
