jaune desprez

jaune desprez

the first time that i saw jaune desprez, i was totally blown away. it was pinned and pillared and i knew that she was coming home with me. this fragrant rose was bred in 1830 and has the same parents as lamarque. since she can climb twenty feet, she is planted at my front wall and against the garage. if you don't have her, you need her and if you have one, you need two.

the garden is hitting its stride. buds galore. we picked our firstbloom bouquets this week and can't wait for the mackdaddy spring flush. the garden is feeling more established and fences are getting covered up. i love a garden with softened hard edges. tiny buds on the apple trees are starting to open and i see two spots that i could fit in fruit trees to espalier.

weekend, come to mama.
