five years ago

i had just sat down to the computer to work when the attacks happened on september 11th. the kids were safe at school and in the grades of 1st, 5th and 7th.

9/11 must be our generation & our children's generation of 'where were you when kennedy was shot?"

For me it was one of those odd days where I was actually listening to the radio instead of CDs to work. Had the cat to drop off at the vet on the way in and thought the initial audio was part of the morning personalities joking around. Then realized it was real and worried if I would be able to get to work since I wan't already on base before it happened and security can be a real pain when stuff like this happens. What I really feel sorry for is that new generations won't be able to visit the statue of liberty and actually climb to the top to see the view that many of their families saw as they came to the US. I also have good memories of visiting the World Trade Centers in the early 80s. Guess that is what they will be.
