to speak of

lady banks

today, we started in the 30s and ended in the 80s...and the garden is churning underneath, but not yet above. tomorrow is 60percent chance of thunderstorms which we desperately need. please.

i don't have a yellow lady banks rose, but i really should have one, even though she struts her stuff once a year, doesn't have a scent of her own to speak of and is bit of a tramp when it comes to space. still. she heralds the spring flush, along with the mountain laurels here in texas. my mountain laurels are behind the neighborhood gravy train, but they will be blooming soon...and you know that i will be pushing them in your face with a 'i wish you could smell these.'

Won't be long now and you will have those little beauties blooming.
Check my blog for some gorgeous roses.

It's nice to know that it's spring somewhere... as I look out at all the ice and snow!

This weather has been absolutely crazy! We're having the same extremes here in Dallas, too.

Today, we're forecasted to get 1-3 inches of SNOW!! Then it's back to temps. in the 60's and 70's.

I have a neighbor with a Lady Banks, and she is a monster! I think she is going to engulf the neighborhood before long.

I was just out watering the containers yesterday evening and noticed how well my little bit of Texas is doing - the TML seed you sent last year is now a strapping 10" tall plant!

I love lady banks! I don't have any at this house, though.

And my mountain laurels smell so gooooood.
