juno

i cannot tell you the last time i went to a movie in a real live movie theater. was it the devil wears prada? i really cannot remember. yesterday, v and i went to see juno and it was quite an interesting movie. ellen page was a gem. it made me think as a girl, a mother, a hypothetical grandmother...and it opened an afternoon's dialogue about teen issues, choices and the unsheltered reality for kids these days. the things that kids are aware of really could make you blush, but sometimes you just have to pull a pat benatar and let them hit you with their best shot and put it on the table and discuss it all.

p.s. i love you will have to be a dvd watch for me. i don't want to blubber in public, but when be kind rewind hits the theaters next month, i am so there. mos def & jack black? honeychild, i will be all over that like white on rice.

That's wonderful, if watching it together gave you an opportunity to talk about some issues.

I'm gonna go see PS I love you in the theatre, but I'll take my hankies. I don't know what it's about, but if hankies are required I'm hoping it will be good. I like the big screen adventure.

PS Jack Black is the man. I love him.

I fell in hardlove with Jack Black when he held up those big ol' string panties in Shallow Hal - that expression on his face...I was hooked 4ever.

I heart Jack Black!

Thanks for the review...I've been wondering about that one! I love movies that give you something to talk about on the way home.

My first inclination when I read the review was no way would I go to that movie with my daughter, but you're right. They know way more than we think they do and any dialogue is good. No matter how uncomfortable it makes us. I wish they didn't know so much...

I went and saw Juno yesterday morning and really enjoyed it, but then again I love those independent/low budget/good story line types of movies.
