falling slowly

i didn't know what to expect from once. i had it in my queue and then bumped it up, due to a critique from a friend. you know when you are in the right place for a movie to hit you the right way? well, this was one of those movies. i was halfway through it and then it dawned on me that it was a musical. (i am not slow, i promise. the songs had such a flow that they didn't get all up in your grill.) so, wrap your mind around it being a musical, because it is worth it. the actors (glen hansard & marketa irglova) actually wrote the lyrics for the soundtrack, and this song is up for an oscar. (okay, i lied. i am slow, because i just found this tidbit when i was compiling this to share.)

falling slowly
lyrics by glen hansard & marketa irglova
featured in once

i don't know you
but i want you
all the more for that
words fall through me
and always fool me
and I can't react
and games that never amount
to more than they're meant
will play themselves out

take this sinking boat and point it home
we've still got time
raise your hopeful voice you have a choice
you've made it now

falling slowly, eyes that know me
and i can't go back
moods that take me and erase me
and i'm painted black
you have suffered enough
and warred with yourself
it's time that you won

take this sinking boat and point it home
we've still got time
raise your hopeful voice you had a choice
you've made it now

take this sinking boat and point it home
we've still got time
raise your hopeful voice you had a choice
you've made it now
falling slowly sing your melody
i'll sing along

I have loved all the movies you recommended to me. Now I wish I could talk Andy into joining Netflix again. Maybe I can get him to do it soon.

Love those lyrics!

d~i've had that happen to me so, so many times while listening to music...and also with movies; but many more times while listening to a song. This one definately gave a great big tug at my heart *sigh*

Hello Love,
I love this clip & song – I need to re-up my netflix membership – it lapsed when the credit card number changed due to Jay loosing his card and I haven’t updated it. I’ve been bitching about the prolonged writers strike so I’m not sure why I didn’t get on it sooner. That said, I’ll go get it back on track tonight. I’d love to get your recommendations.

With so many movies to choose from, what you need is recommendations. Thanks! What a great song.
