a moment for a fallen tree

patina

it has been one of those weeks that you need more than a weekend to recover...and work is the eggsovereasy part.

after having my Christmas tree knocked over six times just this week, i undecorated it yesterday morning at, um, five a.m. and put it at the curb. okay, i get it. holidays, catlings and lucy mae-hem do not mix. i really could go on, but i won't.

what i need is a movie in bed, two days (at least) that i don't have to be anywhere or talk to anyone, a glass of wine and a plate of cheese&crackers...but a second cup of coffee will have to suffice.

stop.
strike that.

what i need is a wife.

Thankfully our threesome just lay in wait under the tree hoping for a chance to pounce on an unsuspecting mouse toy or each other. Here's hoping you win the new year's lottery soon and can retire doing what you like when you like. :)

Nope..what you REALLY need is chocolate..lots and lots of it!

I've never been in a bad situation that wasn't helped by Dr. Hershey, Dr. Nestle, Dr. Godiva or Dr. Ghiardelli. :-) Try it!

Hugs,
Marilyn

Sweet Cheeks... all you really needed was a sturdy hook in the ceiling to hang the tree from!!! Of course, chocolate is always good, too! Skip the cheap stuff and go straight for the Godiva!!! (She's a woman... she understands!)

Oh dear. I came across some notecards yesterday that said "Every life should have nine cats" and I thought of you. But now, maybe not so much!

Oh girlita, I'm wrapping you in hugs. I understand about taking down the tree - you're not admiting defeat - you're taking away its power to frustrate you. Smart move. What is going ON in the cosmos that this christmas season has been so universally crazy?

I hope you can get your weekend me time in. Remember the lesson of RuthEbell stress and make the time, ok?

lovins,
fiwa

Aww Darn! Sorry about the tree, you need to go miniature until your furbabies grow up a bit. A tiny tree with tiny ornaments up safely on a table somewhere. It's fun shopping for stuff to make tiny ornaments out of. Many neat things in the flea markets...thimbles, ribbons, etc.

Or...chocolate! Lindor Truffles! Any of them are yummmmmy! I like the dark chocolate ones.

I hate to say this, but I would love to be a mouse and see what they did to knock over the tree! When I was a kid we had three huge cats and they would climb the tree and we would feel like the tree was looking at us...then we would see kitty eyes looking out from somewhere up high in the tree! We must have had a really strong tree stand cuz I don't ever remember them knocking the tree over.

Bughugs,
Ginni

After this week, I'm kinda over my life out here and willing to consider other positions. Where do I sign up for wife duty ?

I'm so sorry about your tree. I used to have to tie it to a hook in the ceiling. When my daughter was 1 1/2 , my kitten knocked the tree over when we were out. We walked inside to an exploded living room. For the next month, Lauren asked "What happen tree, mama?" over and over and over. That was the worst part. "Kissmass tree fall down, now mama sad" Was what she told EVERYONE. (I think that I just sat in a heap on the floor and cried for awhile)(I had lots of antique ornaments)Thank you for reminding me of that sweet memory of my baby, Dawn. You'll look back on this as a sweet memory too. Honest!

Out of the kindness of my heart, and because I heart you so much, I will let you have Nigella for your wife. But I get to come over for midnight snacks sometimes, ok?

"Grrrrrrrrrr!" to the animal-tree craziness, and I hope you've created some peace for yourself since the fall. There's a reason so many holiday movies feature incidents like this one. :)

Dear Dawn

What a heart wrenching poem - you are a poetess?

Have been following your blog thru this past year and you are doing wonderful. It will only keep getting better and with that wonderful young man at your side life will be good.
