*blush*

happy to see me

yesterday was full of gardenmusing, teadrinking, animalbathing and papershuffling. you know, proper sundaying lyric.

i spent some time in the garden just looking at the roses and the other sweetthangs and this capture of blush noisette really made me smile. i stopped and said 'honey, is that a rosebud or you just happy to see me?'

i am so not a lightpink, fluffy person, but blush noisette never fails to stop me in my tracks. it smells like what your mind tells you that roses smell like. it is a whole lotta firecracker in that lightpink delicate wrapper.

the luxury of stopping just for a second to smell those proverbial roses made me really appreciate the very luxury of freezeframe. lemons are on the tree, roses & bougainvillea are blooming and eggplants & peppers are begging to be picked. it was as if they were all whispering 'hallelujah!' for the weekend rain.

As I am just about resigned to being without roses for the winter, I see this. Oh how my heart now desires roses and all things green, once again.

How long 'til spring?

*Sob* I had a Blush Noisette but managed to kill what everyone said was a resilient, easy to grow rose. Ah well. I shall enjoy pictures of yours :-)

I love this rose as well, but the only thing blooming here is Perle d'Or (it's closest to the house) as we have had several freezing nights and the roses have essentially gone on hold. The lemon tree has moved indoors and should be pickable this week. :)

I second what Ginni said!! And I AM a fluffy pink girl. Maybe I need to sp someone.

Anne - you just need to try again girl, that must have been a bad bush. I have seen your pictures, there's no way it was your growing abilities.

Have a wonderful day, you lyrical gangsta.

Amazing that we're heading into winter here, and it seems like the bounty of summer is at your fingertips there. Ah, would I love to smell that rose.

What a sweet pink! And I think I like rose buds even more than rose blooms. :)
