ice ice baby
a perfectly formed leaf of ice brought home by our youngest son a few minutes ago. yes, folks, the kids are out of school for this freaky ice storm of south texas. they have their toes & fingers crossed for another ice day tomorrow. all of the garanimals are tucked into various corners of the house, kettle is blazing...let's get this party started.
this is san freaking antonio and it is colder here than in new yawk. they are saying that 4 inches of snow is possible. i need to make cinnamon toastfingers for the chillens.

What a strange winter this has been! Y'all stay warm - hope you don't lose power!
We are with you. It is icing here too, but our kids don't get to stay home. 200 salt and sand trucks are sent out and it is business as usual -- except that it takes three times longer to get anywhere.
Very cool leafsicle, missy!
mmmmmmm cinnamon toastfingers--can I come live with you? Just until you move??? I'll be a good houseguest I promise :D
Our kids were nearly in tears when the snow and ice missed us--dammit dammit, we were all prepared and actually kinda looking forward to it, but I disgress...it just wasn't meant to be (which between you and me is prolly a good thing as coonasses don't know HOW to drive on snow or ice).
mwah--and many thanks for the coconut tea cake recipe, it sounds delish!
