a tiny slice of break

a tiny slice of break

i taught high school art all week and it was delicious. sometimes, you need to meet a seventeenyearoldgirl who wants to build violins for a living or a sixteenyearoldboy who obsesses about a fold in a shirt in his pencilportrait to realize that the world just might rock out for a little while longer, that maybe you don't have to automatically frown when you grow up, and that sometimes the sun on your back is all you need.

I know the week was equally as wonderful for the students.

The passionate ones do give a ray of hope, don’t they.

Yes it is the students that make you feel the sunshine. I folded and raced origami frogs with 12 14-year old boys this week. It doesn't get much better. By the way, the Sound of Music was the first movie I ever saw. I was five.

Thank goodness for our youth to keep us mindful and oh the sun was on my back today. Loved the warmth.
