I was 8 years old and these were tumultuous times now firmly imprinted in my psyche. I loved the Sound of Music but not the Sound of War. Interesting juxtaposition. Wonderful thought provoking posts. Great link.

I didn't arrive on the scene till 1967....I don't remember much of 'important' things till about 1975 or so....but I DO love learning about history, and not just the parts in books or media. Thanks for provoking our minds Dawn!

Dawn, I like that layering you've done with the images from your year.

I wonder if the studios thought they were making a classic when they filmed The Sound of Music. I remember it well. It was one of the best things in 1969. Unlike the war.

I was named after Julie Anndrews, apparently my mom way enjoyed this movie while carrying me!

Dawn, you are passing along the digging fever, but Va still has her own ideas about the weather, last weekend everything was covered in ice, but little bulbs are waking up and i am deilighted.
